Fahmi Alqhai offers this viola da gamba concert as part of the XLIV Festival Internacional de Música de Deià.
Alqhai is considered one of the most important viola da gamba players in the world, as well as one of the greatest renovators of the interpretation of ancient music. Born in Seville in 1976, of a Syrian father and a Palestinian mother, he spent the first eleven years of his life in Syria, where he began his musical training.
He began his career as a soloist in 1998, specializing in the German viola da gamba repertoire, and in 2002 he founded the Accademia del Piacere, together with soprano Mariví Blasco.
