The Aljub of Es Baluard welcomes the local final of Poetry Slam Mallorca, a cultural project based on poetry on stage and the spectacle of the word which has been held in Palma since 2010. Poetry slam is a movement based on tournaments of poets who face each other through the notes of a jury selected from the audience.
Poetry Slam Mallorca is one of the national slam pioneers and is part of the Network of Poetry Slam Spain, through which meetings and national competitions are conducted for emerging poets to represent the country internationally.
This local final of Poetry Slam Mallorca will feature guest slammer Dani Orviz and confront the following finalists: Neus Marí, Daniel Martinez Bauza, Margalida Pou, Biel Vila Oliver, Laia Martinez Lopez, Alba Ripoll, Annalisa Marí Pegrum, Magdalena Ferragut, Sergi Costa, Lorena Betina, Marcela Ballester and José Antonio Andrade Serrano. On stage, a DJ will put the musical notes.
This year Palma will also be the stage of the National Poetry Slam Championship of Spain and the II International Poetry Slam, to be held in Es Baluard May 31 and from October 29 to 30, respectively.
