This work was already exhibited in 2008 at Gallery Thomas March in Valencia and at the Lipanjepuntin Artecontemporanea in Rome. It is the result of the journey undertaken by Antonio Girbés (Tabernes Valldigna, 1952) to the Imperial City of Beijing, thanks to a grant awarded by Ivorypress editorial created by Elena Ochoa Foster.
The exhibition Forbidden City, now shown in the Gallery Lluc Fluxà, is composed of fourteen photographs shaped in the form of equilateral square. Far from resorting to standard techniques, such as landscape or portrait, Girbés uses the Kaleidoscope technique to present his work, with details taken from the Imperial City before the big transformation it suffered because of the 2008 Olympic Games.
The compositions created by Girbés invited to approach the work and discover the origin of these snippets of history.
