Giorgio Matteoli and Tomeu Seguí

L'arte de diminuire is the title of this third concert of the XI International Festival of Ancient Music of Caimari 2021. It is carried out by Italian flutist Giorgio Matteoli and Majorcan harpsichord Tomeu Seguí, who perform works from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries.

The Roman Giorgio Matteoli is a prestigious flutist, cellist and conductor, founder and member of the quartet The Palm Court Quartet and soloist conductor of the baroque ensemble Festa Rustica. Giorgio Matteoli stands out for his exceptional expressiveness and his virtuosity with the recorder.

Specialized in ancient music, Tomeu Seguí Campins studied at the Conservatory of Zaragoza, Istituto di Musica Antica. Civica Scuola di Music Claudio Abbado in Milan and in Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne, under the direction of José Luis González Uriol, Lorenzo Ghielmi and Maurizio Croci respectively.

He has performed concerts in Spain, France, Italy or Switzerland in such special places as the Cathedral of Saint Louis of Versailles or San Michele Arcangelo of Venice, where he offered the Concerti di Primavera.

Tomeu Seguí is a titular organist in the weekly concerts of the Organ Jordi Bosch organ in Santanyí, creator and artistic director of the International Festival of Ancient Music of Caimari and of the concert cycles Stylus Phantasticus and Acadèmia Internacional d'Orgue de Mallorca.

The XI Festival Internacional de Música Antiga de Caimari 2021is celebrated from September 18 to October 16 with four concerts in the new church of Caimari and one in Ca Ses Blaies, in Selva. All of them are free. Tomeu Seguí Campins is the artistic director and coordinator of the Festival.
