Pollença's photographic history would not be the same without the contribution of Guillem Bestard (1881-1969), whose technique and sensitivity led him to work as a graphic correspondent for the prestigious National Geografic magazine.
During the first decades of the twentieth century Pollença enjoyed a remarkable sociocultural vitality, with long stays of artists as brilliant as Santiago Rusiñol, Joaquín Sorolla, Anglada-Camarasa, Miquel Costa i Llobera, etc. The creation of the modern and cosmopolitan Hotel Formentor by Adan Diehl also influenced.
Bestard captured that world and its protagonists with photographs of great documentary strength and aesthetic elegance. A photographic exhibition that documents Mallorca in the early twentieth century.
