The winner of the Maria Canals Piano Competition in Barcelona 2016, Hiroo Sato, participates in the X International Festival of Classical Music Pianino 2017 with this recital in which he plays works by Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven and Rachmaninov.
Hiroo Sato (Japan, 1987) is currently studying at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow under the orders of Professor Eliso Virsaladze. Previously, he graduated from the Tokyo Music School. In 2004, he played at the Young Artists Exchange Concert in Germany and Japan, which led him to perform in 2005 for the State of North Westphalia and Brandenburg in Germany. In 2008 he participated in the 17th International Music Festival Young Prague as soloist.
In addition to the Maria Canals International Piano Competition, Hiroo Sato has won numerous awards and prizes such as the 1st Prize of the Japan Music Students Contest (2004), 1st Prize of the Minoru Nojima Piano Competition of Yokosuka (2006) or the 1st Prize of the Nicola di Bari International Piano Competition in Italy (2011), among others.
