The Mallorcan pianist and composer Isis 'Apache' Montero opens the 28th Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla with this Latin jazz concert in Plaza Major. A trip between Spain and Cuba surrounded by four well-known musicians on the Mallorca concert circuit.
Disciple of the acclaimed Cuban pianist Bebo Valdés, Isis 'Apache' Montero is recognized as the first female Latin jazz figure in Spain, as well as a young revelation. She leads this quintet that fuses the explosion of the purest rhythms of Latin-jazz, passing through jazz and with a touch of flamenco, which gives her proposal a very personal touch.
One of her hallmarks is the miscegenation of the musicians who always accompany her (Cubans and gypsies) and a staging with which she creates an atmosphere of very warm energy.
Isis 'Apache' Montero (piano and vocals), Benji 'Habichuela' (cajon and congas), Toni Cuenca (bass), Naile Sosa (drums) and Pep Garau (trumpet).
