The British vocalist Jacqui McShee is one of the reference voices of international folk-rock of the last fifty years. In the sixties she founded the group Pentangle, an essential formation in the gestation of the mixture between rock, folk, blues and jazz.
Her musical career began as a solo artist in British folk clubs in the mid-1960s. After working with guitarist John Renbourn, she co-founded Pentangle, a group that quickly established itself as an early exponent of the British folk rock movement.
In 1994, McShee formed a new band called Jacqui McShee's Pentangle and in 1995 she performed as a session singer with her husband, drummer Gerry Conway, on singer-songwriter David Hughes' album Active in the Parish. It was voted Q Magazine's Album of the Year.
In 2020, Jacqui McShee and British guitarist Kevin Dempsey released From There to Here, a recording of songs they composed themselves and traditional melodies that they now present as an acoustic duo at Castell de Bellver as part of the 100% Summer cycle.
