This year marks the 700th anniversary of the birth of who was the last ruler of the Kingdom of Mallorca, Jaume III. Known as the Reckless, he was King of Mallorca, Count of Roussillon and Sardinia and Lord of Montpellier.

He was born in Catania (Sicily) in 1315 and was King of Mallorca between 1324 and 1344, losing his domains in favor of Peter the Ceremonious. This made the crown of Mallorca go back to the Crown of Aragon. Jaume III died on October 25, 1349 in the Battle of Llucmajor, where his son Jaime was also wounded and captured.

The exhibition, coordinated by journalist Francesc M. Rotger, includes five panels dedicated to the monarch, the exclusive kingdom, economy, culture and society of the kingdom, and the pedigree of the Mallorcan dynasty.

Exhibited will also be pieces provided by the city Council of Palma and the Museu de Mallorca, documents of the Arxiu del Regne de Mallorca and facsímils del Llibre dels Privilegis  and of  Lleis Palatines.

The esxposición is in Castilian, Catalan, French and English.
