The XII Jazz Voyeur Festival celebrates Music Day with a double program that brings together two Spanish music classics on the same night: Javier Ruibal and Luar Na Lubre.
Born in Cádiz, Javier Ruibal is a music explorer with more than thirty years of experience and more than a dozen albums published. The latter is entitled Paraísos mejores, and with it he is currently on tour.
His contribution to music as a composer, arranger, guitarist and singer has earned him important awards, such as the Medal of Andalusia in 2007 and the Premio Nacional de las Artes Actuales en 2017.
Throughout this time he has performed alongside figures such as Paco de Lucía, Pablo Milanés, Celtas Cortos or Joan Valent, among others, and has composed songs for artists such as Ana Belén, Javier Krahe or Martirio.
For its part, Luar Na Lubre is a group founded in A Coruña in 1986 with the vocation to develop and publicize the music and culture of Galicia. It is currently the reference group of Galician folk and the most international, having won important awards such as the 9 music awards granted by the SGAE and the Academy of Arts and Music Sciences, among others. Its new work is entitled Ribeira Sacra.
Luar Na Lubre is formed by Bieito Romero (bagpipes, accordion, zanfoña), Paula Rey (voice), Xulio Varela (bouzouki, voice, percussion), Eduardo Coma (violin), Paxti Bermúdez (bodhran, drum, djimbek), Pedro Valero (electric guitar), Xavier Ferreiro (Latin percussion, effects) and Xan Cerqueiro (flutes).
The XII Jazz Voyeur Festival is held from October to December and programs six concerts, four screenings, five Master Classes and a Q&A session (questions and answers) with Martirio.
