The Valldemossa City Council and the Fundació Coll Bardolet organize this exhibition dedicated to the work of the impressionist painter Joan Fuster Bonnin presented for the first time in 2020, coinciding with the 150th anniversary of his birth.
An outstanding disciple of Ricard Anckermann (1844-1907), Joan Fuster Bonnin (Palma, 1870-1943) held 30 individual exhibitions, participated in 14 national and international Fine Arts exhibitions, in 40 collective exhibitions in the Balearic Islands and Barcelona and, after his death, , 12 tribute exhibitions have been organized.
He was a friend and colleague of Santiago Rusiñol, Jaume Mir, Enrique Galwey, Henri Brugnot, Guillem Bergnes, Eliseo Meifren, Antonio Gelabert and Sebastià Junyer, among others.
He portrayed famous people from Palma, but also popular figures such as fishermen, peasants, spinners, the owner of Son Moragues or the Parado de Valldemossa.
However, most of his work focused on enhancing the Mallorcan landscape and the coasts of the island, especially the landscape of Valldemossa, where he lived for almost half a century, from 1898 to 1943.
