The sixth concert of the 2016-2017 Season of the Fundació Studium Aureum is dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach's Johannespassion BWV 245 (Passion According to St. John). It is directed by Carles Ponseti and involves soloists, choir and orchestra of Studium Aureum.
Johannespassion is a written oratorical passion for solo voices, choir and orchestra written by J.S. Bach shortly before Good Friday, 1724. It is based on chapters 18 and 19 of the Gospel of John. Throughout the years he made modifications in the work, until its definitive version in 1749. This concert will be realized with instruments of the time and baroque tuning.
