The second proposal of the 29th edition of Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla is Kenny Barron, one of the most influential pianists in the history of jazz. He was born in Philadelphia in 1943, and has decided to celebrate his 80th anniversary on stage, offering us a review of his extensive and magnificent career.
Considered by many to be the best active jazz pianist, Kenny Barron is characterized by the enormous taste with which he selects the repertoire and the elegance in his execution.
He is the main conservator of the bebop piano tradition, connecting with historical figures such as Hank Jones or Tommy Flanagan, although Barron follows venturing into new creative territories with the same freshness with which he did at the beginning of his long career.
Kenny Barron (piano) is accompanied by his faithful Kiyoshi Kitagawa (bass) and Johnathan Blake (drums).
Half of the proceeds will go to the Associació Llar de memòria
