In 2021 she released two singles, Mi Cielo and Scheherazade, inspired by medieval music and fantasy tales. Now, the young Mallorcan cellist, singer and composer Laia Ferrer presents her first full-length, Desvelo, released in March 2022.
The new project unites the three pillars of her artistic career: cello, singing and composition. It fuses the acoustic cello of classical tradition with modern music influenced by different styles, creating a different show within singer-songwriter music.
The repertoire includes popular songs from Mallorca and the Peninsula adapted for cello, voice and guitar.
In her still short career, Laia Ferrer has been an academician with the National Orchestra of Spain (ONE) and the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands, as well as a member of the Young National Orchestra of Spain (JONDE) and since 2017 she has been part of the pool of instrumentalists of the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra (ORTVE). She is currently in the process of producing her second album, which will be released in 2023.
