Talismán (2020) is Marco Mezquida's new musical experiment, the most dedicated and personal work of this Minorcan pianist and composer that he is now presenting to us at the 13th edition of the Jazz Voyeur Festival.
At just 33 years old, Marco Mezquida (Maó, 1987) has positioned himself among the most valued and sought-after musicians on the jazz scene and improvised music in Spain, as well as being considered one of the most complete and expressive artists of his generation.
His musical language reflects all the music that he has been passionate about: jazz, free improvisation, romantic classical music, modern music, his love for the world of song and popular Iberian and Latin American music, contemporary music, pop and rock, flamenco and old music.
In this concert of the Jazz Voyeur Festival Marco Mezquida performs together with the trio he leads, which also includes Marko Lohikari (double bass) and Carlos Falanga (drums).
As guest artists, the Formentera quartet Ermanno Panta & Banda Zeitun, made up of musicians from Sicily, Catalonia and Andalusia. Its delicious amalgamation of sounds from Sicilian traditional music, jazz and flamenco provokes tons of quality and enveloping atmospheres as an immediate result.
On the same day of the concert, at 4:00 p.m. at Trui Teatre, Marco Mezquida will offer a free Master class with the title We will talk about music, illusion, discipline ...
