María José Montiel, Vasko Vassilev and Miquel Estelrich

The fourth concert of the 11th Vila de Santanyí International Music Festival is held in Es Fortí in Cala d'Or and stars María José Montiel, Vasko Vassilev and Miquel Estelrich.

Recognized as one of the great mezzo-sopranos of today, María José Montiel from Madrid trained at the Royal Conservatory before moving to Vienna to perfect herself. Her brilliant career has taken her to the most important stages in the world, she has collaborated with maestros such as Mehta, Chailly, Maazel, Oren, Dutoit, Gómez Martínez, L.Cobos, Foster, Marriner, Tate or Benini, and with orchestras such as the Philharmonic. of Vienna, Helsinki and Tokyo, the Montreal and Cincinnati Symphonies, the French National Symphony or the RTVE Symphony. She is a student of the repertoire of Lied, Spanish and French songs, she has offered more than a hundred recitals all over the world and she has been awarded the 2015 National Music Award granted by the Government of Spain. Since 2019 she is a singing teacher at the Universität der Künste in Berlin.

Vasko Vassilev (Sofia, 1970) is a prestigious violinist trained at the Moscow Conservatory and at the Guildhall School of Music and at the Royal College of Music in London. He has won important prizes in international violin competitions and since he was 23 years old he has been the concertmaster of the Royal Opera House in London. He has performed in more than twenty countries and is the founder of the Laureate instrumental group.

For his part, Miquel Estelrich is a tenured professor of piano and founder of the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears, of which he has been director. His intense activity as a pianist has led him to perform in large theaters such as the Kennedy Center in Washington and in the most important auditoriums in Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Germany and China as soloist, soloist with orchestra or chamber music.
