Mayu is a dance piece of solo dancing by Japanese dancer and choreographer Yuko Kominami with the electronic sounds of musician Tomás Tello. It is the eternal cycle of nature: birth, death and rebirth.
In Japanese, Mayu means silkworm cocoon. With a simple cassette recorder, Tomás Tello creates a soundscape for Yuko Kominami movements. The intentions of the music and dance are connected together in a very subtle way. Together they create a fascinating atmosphere where every little movement is perceived.
