The first concert of the XXVI Classical Music Festival d'Arta 'Antoni Lliteres' is dedicated to the work of French composer Francis Poulenc (Paris, 1899-1963). Self-taught, he composed music for all genres and was a member of Les Six, a group of young French composers who had links with Erik Satie and Jean Cocteau.
The concert is carried out by Image Ensemble, a group integrated by renowned musicians who are in turn members of groups such as the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands or the Municipal Band of Palma, among others. This time it comes in a quartet format with Juan Rodríguez (oboe), Jordi Rumbau (clarinet), Joaquín Morales (bassoon) and Julia Martinez (piano).
The program covers five compositions by Francis Poulenc: Sonata for oboe and piano, Mouvements perpétuels, Sonata for clarinet and piano, five Impromptus and Trio for Obeo, bassoon and piano.
