The Can Balaguer Music Hall hosts the Música en femení concert, a journey through the composers of works for voice and piano that should appear in the music history books and today, in the 21st century, still do not.
The tenor José Manuel Sánchez, accompanied on piano by Xisco Blanco, interpret works by the Parisian Cécile Chaminade, who made her debut at the age of 20 for Bizet and obtained the Legion of Honor in 1913; the Majorcan Matilde Escalas, who participated in the concerts of various musical societies on the island and has recently recovered her work composed for voice and piano; Paulina Cabrero from Madrid, whose work was heard in the court of Queen Elizabeth II; and Clara Schumann (wife of Robert Schumann), pianist, composer, and one of the great European soloists of the 19th century.
