The last concert of the 15th Pianino Festival will feature the renowned Japanese pianist Naruhiko Kawaguchi, who returns to the island after the success of the 2023 edition of this festival. The event will be held at the Cell of F. Chopin and G. Sand at the Cartuja de Valldemossa.
Naruhiko Kawaguchi has won top prizes in competitions around the world, such as The International Competition Musica Antiqua Bruges 2016, the Rome Fortepiano International Competition (Premio Muzio Clementi), the Geelvinck Fortepiano Concours 2015 (Amsterdam), the Stanley Hoogland Square Piano Award 2016 and the 27th International Competition for Early Music in Yamanashi (Japan).
Kawaguchi has a special interest in Spanish music, as demonstrated by the concert given in Tokyo in 2014 entitled From the time of Goya, with works by Spanish composers from the classical period. He is also a specialist in the interpretation of historic pianos, such as the 1851 Pleyel grand piano preserved in the Cella, on which he will perform works by F. Chopin, Clara Schumann, F.
