A lyrical tragicomedy that Sicilian composer Vincenzo Bellini (18001-1835) wrote at age 30. The main character of the work is considered one of the most difficult in the soprano repertoire. It includes the aria Casta Diva, one of the most famous of the nineteenth century.
The opera, directed by Enrico Castiglione, is broadcasted live from the spectacular Teatro Antico of Taormina (Sicily), within the annual program Ocimax theaters dedicate to opera and ballet on cinema screen.
