The second concert of the chamber music cycle Serenata Berlin offered by members and friends of the German Symphony Orchestra DSO Berlin, brings together three outstanding musicians: pianist Paul Rivinius, violinist Tamás Vásárhelyi and Max von Pfeil, to whose skills as a cellist is added the appeal to be able to listen to an instrument of the mid-nineteenth century made by Jena-Baptiste Vuillaume, a famous French luthier who followed the footsteps of Stradivarius.
The program consists of the Piano Trio in B flat major No. 1 by Franz Schubert, and Dumky Trio No. 4, one of the most unique and characteristic works of Antonin Dvořák inspired by Slavic songs. Instead of following the traditional chamber music form of three or four movements, the Czechoslovakian composer organized it into six movements, each in a different key representing different moods.
