Cantar con los dedos (Singing with the fingers) is the title of the new record of Spanish pianist Paula Ríos Vázquez. A CD dedicated to the impact of bel canto on a young Chopin and other virtuosos of his circle that now presents in Pianino 2019 closing this edition. The XII International Festival of Classical Piano Music is celebrated in the Cell of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand of the Cartuja de Valldemossa with five concerts from May 18 to June 15.
Described as an interpreter with a strong personality, refined technique and originality in her proposals, Paula Ríos develops an intense activity as a soloist in Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Germany and Argentina.
Currently, her field of study is the work of Frédéric Chopin and the beginning of Romanticism. Her first CD, Chopin en Mallorca, was recorded for the Chopin Cell of Valldemossa and presented by the Chopin Society with the composer's piano in London. Now she presents Cantar con los dedos (Calanda Music), which has taken her on tour to Paris and London.
In addition to regularly developing projects with original instruments of the nineteenth century and acting with soloists of the NYC Ballet with music by Chopin, Paula Ríos intensively investigates the repertoire of nationalism and the avant-garde in Spain. Her CD Viento de Plata (Column Music) recovers the work of Jesús Bal y Gay and Rosa García Ascot, composers of the Generation of 27.
