Valencian Jazz saxophonist Perico Sambeat (Godella, 1962) is the most emblematic jazzman of his generation. A musician located in the orbit of international jazz who has played with the best musicians of his time and collaborated on recordings with artists like Dave Douglas, George Colligan, Eddie Henderson, Bruce Barth or Wallace Roney.
In the 22nd edition of the Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla he shares the stage with a group of promising musicians from the island who have participated in the intensive workshop taught by the saxophonist these days.
Featuring: Perico Sambeat (direction and alto saxophone), Pep Garau (trumpet), Thomas Fontin (tenor saxophone), Tomeu Garcias (trombone), Jaume Riera (piano), Joan Roca (bass) and Pep Lluis Garcia (drums).
The Festival Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla is organized by the City Council of Sa Pobla and programs five free outdoor concerts, held in the Plaça Major from August2 to 6. It also includes the 11th International Jazz Seminar with the Traveling School, a masterclass of saxophonist Perico Sambeat and an exhibition of photographs of Dani Alvarez in the Sala es Cavallets. It is one of the most anticipated events of the year in Mallorca for jazz lovers.
