Animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki in 1997 and set in feudal Japan. Ashitaka is a lone warrior who goes into the forest in search of a remedy that can release him of the destination to which he and his people are condemned. Deep in the woods he discovers the struggle in which greedy humans are immersed against Mononokes, the spirits responsible for protecting the forest.
Princess Mononoke closes the cycle Film and Comic: the history and the dream, held at CaixaForum Palma October1to November 5. The presentations of the films will be carried out by Josep Lluís Fecé, professor at the University of Girona, and Cristina Pujol, Ph.D. in Communication Studies, researcher on gender issues and media professor at the Open University of Catalunya.
