The young Portuguese pianist Rafael Kyrychenko performs in the Cell of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand at la Cartuja de Valldemossa within the Pianino 2023 Classical Music Festival. He performs a work by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart and M. Mussorgsky.

Rafael Kyrychenko (Azores Islands, 1996) began his studies at the age of five with his mother, Cristina Pliousnina. Since then he has received master classes from teachers like Philippe Entremont, Dmitry Bashkirov, Sergei Edelman and Vitaly Samoshko among others. He has played in venues such as the Congress in Geneva, the Estonian National Auditorium, the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Sala Suggia of Casa da Musica, the Gulbenkian Foundation or Flagey Studio 4.

In addition to his recitals, Rafael Kyrychenko has performed under the baton of conductors such as Mikhail Jurowski, Philippe Entremont, Andris Poga, Joseph Swensen and Michael Schønwandt. After finishing his professional studies at the Madeira School of Arts and at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, he graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with honors.

Since 2019 he has been attending the Imola Piano Academy with Leonid Margarius, and since 2021 he has been studying at the Reina Sofía Superior School of Music in Madrid with Milana Chernyavska.

In these years he has received various awards in Europe and the United States, among the latest is the 3rd Maria Canals Barcelona 2021 Award.

In the Cell of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand he offers a program that includes Prelude and Fugue in F # m BWV 883, by Johann Sebastian Bach; Sonata No. 13 in Bb M K. 333/315c, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; and Pictures at an Exhibition, by Modest Mussorgsky.
