The 2013-2014 season of the Studium Foundation Aureum begins with this concert dedicated to one of the most emblematic works of WA Mozart. Requiem KV 626 was an assignment by Count-Stuppach Walsegg which the Austrian composer left unfinished after his death.
In 1791, at the request of Constanze - Mozart's wife -, Leopold Eybler took over the manuscript to finish the instrumental part, but the task was finally finished by Franz Xaver Süssmayr. The Requiem in D minor was composed for soloists, chorus and orchestra (strings, English horns, bassoons, trumpets, trombones, timpani and organ).
This concert by the Fundació Studium Aureum includes the sequence Dies irae in the instrumentalisation of Joseph Eybler.
