The cycle Women don't Wait for Waits programs the first visit to Mallorca of the legendary violinist Scarlet Rivera. The event takes place at the Fundació Miró Mallorca, as part of the #SantJoan23 cultural activities program.
Born 73 years ago in Chicago, Scarlet Rivera has a place in rock history as a pioneer of the electric violin. Starting from a classical background, she broke the norm by experimenting with all musical genres. She was a revolutionary from the beginning and Bob Dylan recognized her genius by inviting her to the Rolling Thunder Revue tour and to the recording of Desire in 1975, chosen by Time magazine as one of the five best albums by the Duluth bard.
Martin Scorsese immortalized that mythical tour in a famous documentary The Queen Of Swords, which credited the violinist as the first female member of Dylan's band. Scarlet appeared on four additional multi-platinum albums.
Bradley Lauretti will accompany Scarlet Rivera on guitar on a tour that will take them through the main cities of Spain. A tour that curiously will go in parallel with that of Bob Dylan.
