This Austrian group is composed of young musicians from five different countries. It was formed in 2011 from former students of a master's degree from the prestigious orchestra Klangforum Wien. Since then they have established themselves as a great referent in the contemporary music scene in Austria.
Schallfeld Ensemble will participate in the XXXVI Encuentro Internacional de Compositores (International Composers gathering) with a program that includes the world premiere of two works: Trio + 2, by Fernando Villanueva (Spain, 1976), for flute, clarinet, piano, violin and cello; and Nueva obra of Andres Gutierrez (Mexico, 1984), for flute, clarinet, piano, violin and cello.
The rest of the works on the program are: Lur-Itzalak, of Ramon Lazkano (Spain, 1968), for violin and cello; Ins Licht, by Georg Friedrich Haas (Austria, 1953), for violin, cello and piano; Lagrein, by Johannes M. Staud (Austria, 1974), for violin, cello, clarinet and piano; and Final responses to GM, by Paul Abel (Spain, 1984), for flute, clarinet, piano, violin and cello.
