Space D of the Es Baluard museum presents the Spleen project from Tehran. Poetry in prose, by the Minorcan visual artist Núria Marquès (Ciutadella, 1975). In it he dismantles, from a personal and intimate perspective, the acceptance of a series of cultural representations that influence our gaze.
The creator questions the limits of human communication through her own experience: how can we approach the other and alterity when the codes are not evident?
In 2018, she travels to Tehran for an artistic residency with the purpose of developing a project around the relationship between gastronomy and theocracy. However, as soon as she arrives, she faces the need to reinvent her project and build a new research methodology that adapts to the reality that she lives.
