Screening of the American film The Cotton Club (1984) within the Febrer Negre series organized by Palma City Council. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola and with music by John Barry, it received two Oscar nominations for best artistic direction and editing.
The film is set in America in the twenties, where the Cotton Club is the most famous night club in Harlem, New York. Its story is that of the people who frequent the place: Dixie Dwyer (Richard Gere), an attractive trumpeter looking for success; Sandman Williams (Gregory Hines), a brilliant black dancer who dreams of becoming a star; or Vera Cicero (Diane Lane), a beautiful and ambitious young woman.
