The Brazilian photographer, poet and pianist Alécio de Andrade (1938-2003) covered for almost four decades the halls of the Louvre museum in Paris, specifically from 1964 until shortly before his death, leaving more than 12,000 photographs. In El Louvre y sus visitantes (The Louvre and its visitors), which can be seen in the Chapel of La Misericordia, 62 of them are shown.
Each of the images is like a theater scene we see over the shoulders of the artist, while the visitors are the actors, a poetic vision that reveals us the relationships, sometimes unusual, which are established between the visitors and the artwork.
The exhibition opens with a lecture by the public relations officer of the Louvre, Sabine de la Rochefoucauld, entitled The Louvre in feminine: faces and portraits.
