A popular piece in three acts with prologue and epilogue, and with music by Jacques Offenbach (Germany, 1819 - Paris, 1880) French libretto by Jules Barbier. It is offered live from one of the European temples of music, the Paris Opera. It is part of the international operatic repertoire, and in the statistics of the Opera base it is number 30 of the most represented works between 2005 and 2010.
