Seguiriya, Tres, Après toi and Bolero are the four pieces of the program which the company Victor Ullate Ballet - Comunidad de Madrid presents in Mallorca within its current tour of Spain, France and Italy.
Its author is the renowned dancer, choreographer and director Victor Ullate Spanish (Zaragoza, 1947), who holds among his accolades the National Dance Award (1989), the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts (1996) and the Prize Max for the Performing Arts (2007).
In 1983 he founded the Victor Ullate School of Dance and five years later the Ballet Victor Ullate, as this company was called in the beginning. In his works he combines a wide variety of styles from classic to his characteristic neoclassical.
In the Auditorium of Palma de Mallorca he presents four pieces of his repertoire: Seguiriya, released in 2002, is a very personal connection between contemporary classical dance and flamenco roots, Tres, choreographed by Eduardo Lao-artistic director of the company, is a suggestive chassé; Après toi, in which Victor Ullate honors his teacher Maurice Béjart, and Bolero, released in the current 2013 season.
This last piece is inspired by the music of Maurice Ravel and set in the early twenties of the last century, a time when the ballets changed the composition and conception of dance ceasing to be exclusively female.
