Each year during the Fira d'Artesania, the Museum of Pollença dedicates its space to a figure of great significance to the museum and to Pollença. On this occasion it’s the Uruguayan artist Osvaldo Leite (1943), who spent a long period in this beautiful enclave of northern Majorca.
His work is in major collections of the world and in 1997 he was awarded the Chevalier of the Order of Merit of the French Republic.
Many of the works on display in Views from Pollença are portraits of people known in the village, many of which have now disappeared. Taking advantage of his stay on the island, Osvaldo Leite is the artist of the month at the Museum of Pollença.
