This documentary, narrated by actor Dustin Hoffman, takes us into the life and career of photographer Julius Shulman, whose work was instrumental in the image projected by the California lifestyle of the mid-twentieth century in the United States and around the world.
His work not only identifies the distinctive elements of the buildings, but deals from their natural context and introduces the human figure in his pictures, something that wasn’t seen as appropriate until then in architectural photography.
