One hundred and fifty replicas of the warriors of Xian (China) arrive at Palma after their tour of several cities in Germany, Venice and Prague. The exhibition of the terracotta army includes warriors, archers, officers, generals, Clay horses of natural size and about a thousand soldiers.
They are perfect replicas of the figures found in the mausoleum of first emperor Shi Huang Di (259 BC), and molded in old kilns using traditional methods. The originals were discovered in 1974 when peasants were burrowing into a well to draw water. In the imaginary funeral, the clay army was intended to help the emperor to rule in the afterlife.
