The Town Hall of Santa Maria del Camí and the eight local wineries have presented the Vi Novell brand of Santa Maria that will unify all the wine of the year produced in the municipality. This initiative is part of the Festa del Vi Novell in Santa Maria, which is celebrating its 15th edition this year.
The new wine sold in barrels, in bulk, is a tradition that in very few places is maintained and in Santa Maria is a tradition that has lasted over the years and has allowed to dignify the product among the local consumer. The creation of the Vi Novell brand in Santa Maria will make it possible to extend this product value in all the markets in which the Santamarian wine is present.
In this way, all the young wine bottled in Santa María will have the capsule with the image and the first place where you can taste it will be the Festa del Vi Novell. This festival is celebrated since 2003 with the purpose of promoting the wine of Santa Maria del Camí, with a long winemaking tradition.
It begins with the arrival at the plaza of the Vila of the carriage of the branches of pine that are delivered to the warehouses of the town so they hang them in the top of their main entrance, an old custom to announce the beginning of the sale of young wine.
The Fiesta includes the VII Festa de la Tapa, with tasting of young wine and tapas in 14 venues of Santa Maria offering their specialties.

11:00 h. Wineries and neighbors, accompanied by Quintos 97 and the Colla de Gegants de Santa María, will go to Son Llaüt to look for the pine buds that will decorate the town during the week.
Friday 24:
7:00 p.m.Local Brot de Pi to the book Vinyòvol by Pere Calafat, vintner of Santa Maria del Camí, and foreign Brot de Pi, to the brothers Santi and Tomeu Taura Pol , for their impulse and support for local gastronomic products and wines.
8:00 p.m. Inauguration of the exhibition The History Exhibition, by Dominik Wein. The resident artist in Santa Maria will lead us through his family tree, related to the world of wine, and will exhibit portraits of santamariers within history. Place: Ca s'Apotecar

From 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Day of open doors to the Santa Maria wineries. Guided tours and wine tastings will be held
