The British-Bahraini trumpeter, composer and producer Yazz Ahmed opens the new edition of the Jazz Palma Festival with this concert at the Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza in quartet format.

Yazz Ahmed (Bahrain, 1983) combines the spiritual sounds of the Middle East with the futuristic flavor of the contemporary jazz scene in the UK, which has led her to be defined as 'psychedelic, intoxicating and captivating Arabic jazz'.

Her album La Sabotuse (2017) garnered The Wire magazine's Jazz Album of the Year award. With her latest record work, Polyhymnia (2019) garnered multiple rave reviews and DownBeat magazine referred to her as one of the artists who will shape the future of jazz.

Yazz Ahmed (trumpet) is accompanied by Ralph Wyld (vibraphone), David Manington (bass) and Martin France (percussion).

The Jazz Palma Festival is organized by the Palma City Council and is held from February 10 to 19, 2023 at the Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza. This fourth edition programs seven concerts with international artists and groups, as well as a series of complementary activities related to the world of jazz.
