This building is one of the maximum exponents of Gothic architecture in Mallorca and one of the most beautiful of Palma. It was designed by sculptor Guillem Sagrera, grand master of La Seu, and built in the mid fifteenth century to house the headquarters of the Merchants Association. Its interior is an open space that reveals its impressive Solomonic columns and ribbed vault. Among the many works of sculpture that can be seen, stand out the Angel Defensor de la Mercancía on the main façade, by the Gothic sculptor of Dutch origin Claus Sluter. This monument is managed by the Presidency of the Balearic Government and hosts temporary exhibitions of works and facilities of large format and size.
