The relationshipbetween Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) and Antonio Salieri (1750-1825) was very narrow and complex, with several literary works that have as argument the supposed rivalry between the two composers. One is Amadeus, written by English playwright Peter Shaffer and inspired by Mozart and Salieri, a short play by Russian author Aleksandr Pushkin.
Amadeus was brought to the big screen in 1984 with the film adaptation directed Milos Forman and Shaffer himself was commissioned to write the script. The film was a huge success and won eight Oscars in the edition of that year, including Best Picture.
The assembly now presented is a production of Teatre Principal de Palma with the direction of Roberto Romei. Cast: Queralt Albinyana, Sergi Baos, Maria Bauçà, Xavier Frau, Enric de las Heras, Carles Molinet, Xisco Segura, Joan Manel Vadell and Xim Vidal.
