George Tabori (1914-2007) was a Hungarian theater director and playwright of enormous interest, whose work, however, has barely been seen in Spain. Brecht's theater and a caustic and macabre sense of humor, typical of the Jewish tradition, resonate in his writing.
In Coraje de madre he tells how his mother, Elsa Tabori, was saved from being deported to an extermination camp. The mother herself corrects her son's version again and again to clarify the details. And so we see how difficult it is to tell certain things that cannot be told and yet must be told.
With stage direction by Helena Pimenta, Coraje de madre is performed by Carmen del Valle, Pere Ponce, David Bueno, Xavi Frau and Sacha Tomé. A co-production of the Teatre Principal de Palma, Teatro de La Abadía and Ur Teatro. Language: Spanish.
