The piano work of Benet Casablancas (Sabadell, 1956) comprises over twenty pieces, from the early Dues Peces from 1978 to la Pàgina per a Chopin composed this year 2015. This will soon be followed by Dues Pàgines per Granados, written on the occasion of the celebration in 2016 of the centenary of the death of Enrique Granados, who died in 1916 in the English Channel in the ship Sussex torpedoed by the German army during World War I.
The XXXVI Encuentro Internacional de Compositores ( XXXVI International Composers gathering), organized by Fundació A.C.A., dedicates this special concert to the composer Benet Casablancas. The young pianist José Menor, one of the most brilliant musicians of his generation, will perform a set of works composed by Casablancas in the past six years, which highlights some existing scores as Scherzo, which marks a turning point in his career.

El jove pianista José Menor, un dels músics més brillants de la seva generació, interpretarà un conjunt d’obres compostes per Casablancas en els darrers sis anys, a les quals se sumen algunes partitures anteriors destacades com Scherzo, que marca un punt d’inflexió en la seva trajectòria.
