The virtuoso Mallorcan violinist Francisco García Fullana (Palma, 1990) opens the XIII Pianino Classical Music Festival 2020 with this concert in which he will present his latest CD La sombra alargada de Bach.
Francisco Fullana debuted at age 9 as a soloist with the Balearic Symphony Orchestra and at 15 dazzled audiences and critics at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, where he played with a Stradivarius of 1713 that had belonged to Pablo de Sarasate.
After winning the ‘Pablo de Sarasate’ National Violin Prize in 2006, he began his international projection and in 2012 he won the First Atlantic Symphony Concerto Competition and Special Audience Award in Boston.
The program of this concert consists of Partita para violin solo No. 2, BWV 1004 and Partita No. 3, BWV 1006 in mi major, by J.S. Bach; Capricho nº 24, by Niccolò Paganini; Recitativo & Scherzo, by Fritz Kreisler; Sonata No. 2, by Eugène Ysaÿe; and Asturias Leyenda for solo violin, by Isaac Albéniz.
The XIII Pianino International Classical Music Festival is celebrated in the Cell of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand de la Cartuja de Valldemossa with three concerts, in this first part, from February 11 to March 1.
