This grand comic opera, with music by Gioachino Rossini to an Italian libretto by Cesare Sterbini, is based on the eponymous comedy by French playwright Pierre Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais. Its premiere in February 1816 at the Teatro di Torre Argentina in Rome with the title of Almaviva, ossia l'inutil precauzione, failed miserably due to a series of fatal incidents.

Involving the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands and Cor del Teatre Principal, and has been musical direction by Fernando Marina and direction staged by Eugenia Corbacho, which puts the plot in the world of nightclubs in the late 70s of last century.
