Es Baluard celebrates its tenth anniversary with the opening of this new permanent exhibition that will be open until January 2015. Implosió. 1er movimiento  is divided into four distinct areas, and shows the avant-garde experimentation that took place in the early twentieth century.

First through Cubism, as the first move to break with the established art, shortly after followed by Surrealism and Dada together with the development of American abstract expressionism and informality in Europe after World War II.

The new room includes works by Mary Blanchard, Wifredo Lam, Fernand Léger, Nicolas de Staël and Antoni Tàpies along with such fundamental creators in this period as Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso. Of the latter is included a new reading of his work in the field of ceramics, language he discovered in 1946 in Vallauris (France) and developed between 1947 and 1971.

The museum of modern and contemporary art Es Baluard officially opened on January 30, 2004, so the opening coincides with the celebration of its tenth anniversary. On that day there will be a party which has been called Implosió and will be celebrated in the Aljub from 21:00 until midnight. Moreover, in the auditorium will be the performance of Jansky duo formed by Laia Poor and Jaume Reus, organized by Radio3 program Fluido Rosa.
