A century ago in Paris at La Sacre du Printemps, took place the premiere of the work of Igor Stravinsky that strongly transgressed the rules of the world of music and dance. The issue also caused controversy, due to being a pagan spring ritual in which a girl sacrificed herself dancing to death before being given an offering.
From this well-known work of Stravinsky, Danish choreographer Granhoj Dans created this version of one hour duration. With the irreverent treatment that characterizes his company, Rite of Spring-Extende focuses on the initiation, through a series of ceremonies and rituals that lead to the transformation of a young man to adult.
