Several differences separate the new work of Jordi Ribes (Barcelona, 1972) of his earlier works, maintaining the game of hybrids between painting and digital language that characterizes him. The aggressiveness of the colors has been lowered and now the preponderance of black and white enhances the presence of objects, their loneliness and isolation.
The paintings of El lugar de las cosas (the place of things) are developed in macabre scenarios where all the characters have disappeared and where only remain the objects and the space that holds them, the only elements to concentrate on to find answers to a grim puzzle.
