This great work of Puccini closes the XXVIII season of the Opera Teatre Principal de Palma. The Italian composer died before finishing it and was completed by Franco Alfano. Finally, Turandot could be premiered on April 25, 1926 at La Scala in Milan.
Libretto by Giuseppe Ada and Renato Simoni, the story takes us to ancient China, where Princess Turandot has sworn to only marry the prince who solves three riddles she has prepared.
The production which can now be seen at the Teatre Principal is a replacement of the proceeds for the last season of opera. It is interpreted by Eugenia Bethencourt, Eduardo Sandoval, Maia Planas, Pablo Lopez, Rodrigo Alvarez, Antoni Aragon, Bartomeu Guiscafre, Pedro Fuentes and Miguel Sola. Participating the Children Cor of the Teatre Principal, Cor Teatre Principal and the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands. Scenic direction by Pablo López and musical direction of Santiago Serrate.
