📖 Inflatable structures and collective bodies

Inflating a membrane, expanding in size, or filling up with air are mechanisms used by living organisms to communicate or shield themselves from danger. Drawing inspiration from these biological responses, the workshop invites attendees to build temporary inflatable structures using fabric elements.

These creations will function as extensions of Artefacto's geometric pieces. By designing cavities, protuberances, and tentacles, participants will engage with the space through play, stepping into the realm of other organisms to become part of a collective body.

🎨 The artist and the device

Anna Irina Russell is a multidisciplinary artist who explores communication processes through sculpture, installation, and performance. Her practice delves into the tensions between bodies, materials, and physical space, utilizing a playful language to challenge established communicative patterns.
